ACS Middle School to Present Holiday Concert and Art Show-12/5/2011

The Adirondack Middle School Fine Arts Department will present their annual Holiday Concert and Art Show on Wednesday, December 7, at 7:30 p.m. in the Adirondack High School auditorium.
Featured groups for the concert include the Middle School 6th grade chorus under the direction of Miss Sarah Stedman. Among the selections the chorus will perform are “Star of Bethlehem” from the motion picture “Home Alone” arranged by Dennis Allen, and “An Irvin Berlin Christmas” featuring selections “Count Your Blessings Instead of Sheep” and “White Christmas” from the movie “White Christmas.”
The 7th and 8th grade concert band will perform “William Tell Overture” arranged by Andrew Balent, “A Christmas Hymn” based on “Away in the Manger,” and “Christmas Around The World” arranged by Michael Story. The band is directed by Mr. Lindsay Wilcox.
The 7th and 8th grade chorus, under the direction of Mrs. Heather Ventura-Flinchum, will perform “Merry Christmas, Merry Christmas” from the movie “Home Alone” composed by John Williams, “Midnight Sleighride” featuring soloists Ethan Weidmcr, Andrew Leichty and Marie Lane, as well as “Children, Go Tell It,” a gospel spin on “Go Tell It On The Mountain.”
Student artwork in grades 6-8 are under the direction of Mrs. Meg Brown.
The concert and art show are open to the public and there is no admission charge.
