Boonville Concert Band-6/27/2011
Summer is here, and concerts on the Boonville Village Bandstand will begin on Friday evening, July 1, at 8 p.m. The band will perform a program of patriotic music, featuring “Parade of the Tall Ships,” “American We,” and the “Stars and Stripes Forever” by Sousa.
A highlight of the concert will be a performance of the very popular Civil War piece, “Ashokan Fare-well,” featuring Dr. Jon Magendanz on violin. Magendanz, a retired dentist and music educator, also plays trumpet with the band.
Concerts will continue on July 8 and 15, and again on August 12 and 29. For more information, call 942-4388.
