All Signs Point to the Boonville Farmers Market-6/13/2011
Signs are pointing the way to this year’s Boonville Farmers Market which opens this Thursday, June 16, at noon.
Market goers from last year will be happy to see most of the same wonderful vendors as last year: Thorn Apple Shack, Amish Bakers, 1000 Islands Winery, Mill Creek Cattle, Colwell’s Market, just to name a few. Plus they will be welcoming a few new vendors with goat cheese, heirloom vegetables, and even homemade doggie treats!
Market co-manager Kelly Ulrich announced, “We have been working with the Village of Boonville to expand the parking area and we are happy to announce that extended parking will be ready for opening day. In addition, we will have a traffic control officer to help move traffic in and out smoothly.”
“Last year was our first year”, said co-manager Judie Dellerba, “and it was a learning experience. We had no idea that we would have as many market shoppers as we did, and the parking, and traffic flow was a problem. But we hope we have that problem solved and look forward to a great season.”
Also this year, the Farmers Market vendors have been invited to exhibit at the Boonville-Oneida County Fair on Monday, July 25, from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. This is a one-day opportunity to be part of an agricultural fair. That week, you will have twice the opportunity to do your Market shopping, as the Market will also be held on Thursday, July 28.
The Market, which will operate every Thursday from noon to 6 p.m. until October 14, is located along the canal behind Nice ’N Easy near the railroad crossing. (For the full story pick up this week's Boonville Herald or call 315-942-4449 today for a subscription)
