GROUND-BREAKING FOR TWO NEW BUSINESSES IN REMSEN
On Tuesday, June 26, ground was broken for a new building in Remsen that will house two new businesses, a 1950’s-style restaurant and a convenience store. Steve Boucher, who graduated from Remsen Central School in 1983, is owner of the businesses. He had worked in the corporate world for 20 years and decided to move back to the area and go into business with his family. The building will be 5,000 square feet, with plans to open the convenience store in time for Remsen Barn Fest 2007, and the restaurant several months after. On hand for the June 26 ground-breaking were members of Boucher’s family, Remsen Mayor Peter Billard, Oneida County Executive Anthony Picente, Senator Joe Griffo’s representative Carole Owen. Also on hand was a representative from First Niagara Bank, as they are providing the funding for the project.
