Early Holiday Deadline
Due to the Memorial Day holiday, there will be an early deadline for the June 1 issue of the Boonville Herald. All news and advertising copy for that issue must be submitted before 4 p.m. on Wednesday, May 25. The Boonville Herald office will be closed on Memorial Day, May 30.

ACS Budget Vote and Election

Meet & Greet the ACS Board of Education Candidates
Adirondack Central School will host a “Meet & Greet the Candidates Night” this evening, Wednesday, May 11, at 7 p.m. in the Boonville Elementary School Cafeteria. Prepared questions will be asked, and then members of the audience will have an opportunity to ask questions. Be an informed voter and attend this meeting, which is being sponsored by the Boonville, Forestport and West Leyden PTAs.

They have two winners for Boonville’s Joint Planning Committee’s survey ticket drawing. Mrs. Esther Paddock (ticket #439334) of Potato Hill Road, Boonville, is the winner of the Boonville Herald gift basket, and Mrs. Patty Staton (ticket#439311) of East Road, Boonville, is the winner of the Great American gift certificate.

COMMUNITY CENTER PLANS CHANGED
Although this sign is still in place on Route 294 in Boonville, it has been announced that a community center will not be built on this site. Amy Turner, executive director of the Mohawk Valley Community Action Agency, explains why and what the plans are now:

NEW FLAG
Last Thursday, May 5, a new flag was raised in Boonville’s Little Village Park. Students from the Conservation Science Class from Oneida County Career & Technical Education Center, New Hartford, assisted Mac Waterman (far right) chairman of the Flag Committee.

Past snowmobile races/winter carnivals always drew huge crowds to the Boonville Fairgrounds and to area businesses.
