The Joe Kelly Show is taped every Tuesday afternoon in the studios of WUTR on Smith Hill Road in Deerfield. The director of the show is Chris Thornton. Dave Martin is behind the camera. Chris Ford handles audio from the control room. Al Williams and Tom Geise are also part of the behind the scenes crew.
The show's guests include politicians, authors, community activists, educators, historians, sports figures and officials from local institutions such as the Oneida County Historical Society, Munson-Williams-Proctor Institute, Boilermaker Road Race, Oneida Indian Nation. Past guests have included Gov. George Pataki, Utica Mayor Tim Julian, former Oneida County Executive Ralph Eannace, former Rome mayor and current County Executive Joe Griffo; local authors such as John Briant, Denny Griffen, historians such as Frank Tomaino and Oneida County Historical Society President Kevin Marken and several superintendents of Fort Stanwix; sports figures such as runners Bill Rodgers and Frank Shorter, and Jeff Idelson and Bruce Markenson, both officials of the National Baseball Hall of Fame;
The show is broadcast Sunday nights at 11 o'clock on WUTR an ABC affiliate.
