with several other commercial sources donate food, and the Scouts’ parents

Boy Scouts serve.

Stump Hollow Bluegrass Plays the Park
HOLLAND PATENT – The Park Coffee House in Holland Patent will feature
music by Stump Hollow Bluegrass Band on Saturday evening, May 10, at 8 p.m.
Although regulars of the Park Coffee House consider them among “local
favorites,” the Stump Hollow Bluegrass Band has appeared in bluegrass
festivals in central New York, northern Pennsylvania, and Maine since
forming in 1989. In that year Carl Stump moved to the Mohawk Valley,
bringing his country/bluegrass experience, his baritone voice, and his
guitar. Soon he was joined by Suzanne Privett on standup bass, who also
sings harmony vocals, and in 1994 by Lori Thompson and Chris Pepe.
Chris can play bass, but usually finds himself playing banjo and being the
usual butt of traditional banjo jokes. Lori is the composer and primary
female lead singer of the group, and fills in the bluegrass licks with her
mandolin playing. She has composed many original songs and her recently
composed “Fiddle in the Attic,” which is the title song of Stump Hollow’s
soon to be released album.
Gary Dygert is the most recent addition to the group. His Dobro and
occasional guitar, along with tenor voice, and corny jokes, is a fun
addition.
The Park Coffee House is in its 24th year at its venue located in a
community space of the Presbyterian (Twin) Church in Holland Patent, facing
the Holland Patent Park. The concert begins at 8 p.m. with two sets of music
separated with a break for homemade desserts and coffee house beverages. The
price of admission for adults is $10, but the musical fun is priceless.
